We are in the process of developing a situational awareness trainer named FlightCoach. The device helps to train pilots to recognize slow and uncoordinated flight through practice recognizing the physical characteristics of those flight regimes.
FlightCoach needs next to no installation: the device clips to a visor or other part of the cockpit within view of the pilot. It works the same way pilots do: by listening for the sounds in the cockpit and by feeling accelerations due to uncoordinated flight. The display is simple and intuitive and meant to be unobtrusive, since it’s an aid to learning but is not flight instrumentation.
In the end, our users become better pilots and, best of all, don’t need to rely on any esoteric instrumentation, just the instruments already in their planes.
We are working toward starting our open Beta Test of the FlightCoach this spring. If you’d like more information, please contact us here.
